Red Light Conversations: Plants Don't Apologize for Growing

A lush garden bed filled with herbs

The garden and the business share a truth: sustainable growth depends on staying connected to what helps you thrive.

You ever notice how plants don't apologize for growing?

That little celery base in the bowl? Most people would've thrown it away because it looked finished. Dead season. No purpose left.

Now look at it… growing again from the center.

And that plant unfurling that new leaf?

Do you know how much pressure it takes for a leaf to push itself open?

Growth is beautiful… but let's stop pretending it isn't uncomfortable.

Because every new season stretches something: your mindset, your discipline, your patience, your faith, sometimes even your relationships.

And the wild part is… people will celebrate the flower but disappear during the rooting process.

See, plants don't grow because they "feel motivated."

They grow because they stay connected to what feeds them: light, water, nutrients, structure.

Same with people.

If you keep starving yourself spiritually, emotionally, mentally… don't be shocked when growth feels impossible.

And sometimes God has to prune parts of your life because you've been trying to force energy into dead branches.

Whew.

Some of us are emotionally watering weeds and praying for fruit.

Growth requires discomfort.

Roots break soil before flowers ever bloom.

But the pain of stretching is still better than the pain of staying stagnant.

Scripture says:

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit."- John 15:5

So maybe this season isn't punishment.

Maybe it's preparation.

Anyway… light's green. 🚦
